Who We Are

Founded in 2012 by an Oregon State alumnus, Beaver Moving is staffed by professional movers with years of experience in residential and commercial moves. We understand the value you place on your possessions, and we treat them, and your living space, accordingly. Honesty and integrity are our guiding values, so we promise that we'll do what we say we'll do, when we say we'll do it.

We are affiliated with the U-Haul Moving Helper program. We're also registered with the State of Oregon (#876709-99).

What We Do

We provide moving services. This means that we provide the labor and equipment to safely and efficiently move your valued belongings on and off the truck.

We will gladly unpack boxes, disassemble/assemble furniture, move items where you wish, and in general make your life easier. Moving is stressful; hiring us to assist your move isn't.

Other services:

• Packing available by prior arrangement.

• Loadmaster. If you have labor but need help fitting everything on the truck, we will provide an experienced lead mover at the one-man rate of $50/hr

How We Do It

• On initial contact we'll ask about your requirements and expectations. We'll follow up with a confirmation call the day prior to the move.

• On the day experienced, reliable Beavers will show up early with equipment. We'll ask about your priorities and plan the job. 

• We will put down floor protection and and blanket railings if required. 

• We shrink wrap everything with doors and drawers. Items that need to be bundled are also wrapped. 

• We pack quickly and tight. On local moves we use blankets freely. Flat, fragile items like TV's and mirrors are usually put between mattresses. 

• You are paying us to work. No cellphones, smoking, or cussing are allowed on site. 

• Follow-up - After the move is complete, we will ask if there is anything we can do to assist you.       

Where We Do It

We provide moving services in the Portland, OR metro area. Our normal operations area is bounded by Wilsonville and Vancouver, WA, and Forest Grove to I-205. Other areas by arrrangement.  

What We Charge

• Two Beavers - $100/hr.

• Each additional Beaver - $50/hr.

• There is a two hour minimum per job. Outside the Portland metro area, the minimum is three hours.

• Jobs are figured to the next half-hour. Ex: A 2 hr. 10 min. job is charged at 2 1/2 hrs.

• Packing charge: hourly plus material costs, unless materials are supplied by the customer.

• We offer a 10% discount to Oregon State alumni on jobs of 4 hours or more.

• Discounts may not be taken concurrently.

What We Don't Do

• Pianos - Despite their size, pianos are relatively fragile instruments. Small uprights are OK; for anything larger, we strongly recommend that you hire a specialized piano mover.

• Waterbeds - Drained and folded: yes. Otherwise: no.

• Large aquariums.

• Exceptionally valuable items - Your grandmother's china cabinet: sure. Ming Dynasty vase: no.

• Exceptionally fragile items - The lead mover may judge some items too frail to withstand the rigors of moving. In those cases they will consult with you, explain their concerns, and present you with options. Some DIY furniture is only good for a few moves. We want you to be happy with your moving experience, and we'll make sure you're kept informed.
